Fill a rocks glass with crushed ice and add 1/2 Oz of Absinthe, Stir to coat the glass with the absinthe.
In a mixing glass combine;
Ice
3 Oz Rye Whiskey
3/4 Oz Simple Syrup
2 Dashes of Peychaud Bitters
Discard crushed ice from the rocks glass and strain the cocktail into it.
Garnish with a lemon twist.
This is an interesting cocktail, I get the impression that it is making a come back. I have not tried this drink personally but it does look good!
Well I have been shabby in posting but guess what? I got the job. Going in next week for processing and then I will be on the floor in about 2 weeks!

Tokyo Tea
Highball or Hurricane Glass
1/2 Oz Vodka
1/2 Oz Gin
1/2 Oz Rum
1/1 Oz Triple Sec
1/2 Oz Tequila
1/2 Oz Midori Melon Liquor
Shake over ice and I like to fill it up with 7-up or sprite.
This drink is amazing, very similar to a long island iced tea with an additional liquor in it, giving it a green color. Very easy to drink so be careful drinking one too many of these will knock you over!
My interviews went well and this Thursday I am going to have to take a test to prove I know how to bartend. Wish me luck!

Red Death AKA Red Devil
1 1/2 OzVodka
1 1/2 Oz SoCo
1 1/2 Oz Triple Sec
1/2 Oz Slow Gin
1/2 Oz Amaretto
1/2 Oz Lime Juice
2 Oz Orange Juice
Build in a hurricane glass over ice, shake and enjoy
This drink is VERY strong and tastes like fruit punch. Be prepared to feel it when you stand up. This can be a very dangerous drink because you will barely notice you are drinking alcohol, especially after one or two of these. This drink is a combination of a kamikaze and an Alabama Slamma! Enjoy and let me know what you think!

The Jersey Turnpike (Shot)
I want to apologize for not posting the last two days, I had two interviews in a row.
So far so good, I have the job contingent upon a test of my bartending knowledge, again, wish me luck!
So we have the Jersey Turnpike today, fitting, because I am from Jersey.
This is purely a gag shot, give this to someone turning 21 and knows very little about shots.
The bartender will simply empty the bar mat into a shot glass, so this shot is a mess of everything that has spilled into his or her mat in the process of making other drinks.
I suppose this isn't a terrible tasting shot, depending on what the bartender has been making that night, but I am sure that your victim will be pretty mad at you after ordering them this shot.
Enjoy, I look forward to hearing your feedback on this shot!

Afterbirth (Shot)
Also known as the Aborted Fetus
This is a layered shot.
Glass: Shot
1/2 Schnapps, your choice, I usually use peach, this is the bottom layer.
1/2 Irish Cream (Baileys), use a bar spoon to layer this above the Schnapps.
Finally, drizzle a few drops of grenadine in the center, this will pull down the Baileys to make what looks like Afterbirth, hence the name.
Not the most visually appealing shot but it does taste good!
This is a controversial shot I would say but offering it to customers you know is a great way to peak their interest in trying new shots.
My interview is tomorrow, wish me luck!

Jack and Coke
Jack and Coke
Glass: Highball
Primary Liquor: 1 oz. A Tennessee Whiskey (Jack Daniels)
Fill with Coke
On The Rocks
I find it suiting that, although simple, my first blog post should be my favorite drink.
The reason Coke is the ideal choice as a mixer is because it is not as sweet as most other colas.
I have been drinking this since I was able to drink( Ok, well before that) but it is hands down my favorite drink out or in the home!
I am a recently licensed bartender and I am looking for a job. I have an interview set up for this tuesday and hopefully I will be working in a casino in Atlantic City by the end of the week!
Stay tuned and make sure to follow me as I will be listing new and exciting drink and shot recipes on a daily basis.
